Graphics card settings on Windows
Last update:

Windows computers often have two graphics cards: an Intel card and a dedicated graphics card. The Intel card is weaker and often does not meet the minimum requirements for Vectorworks. The dedicated card (AMD-Radeon or NVIDIA) is better suited for software such as Vectorworks.
Vectorworks uses the Intel card by default. You can change this setting by following the steps below. This will tell your computer it should always use the dedicated card for Vectorworks:
- Click the Start button and go to ‘Settings’.
- Use the search bar to search for the ‘Graphics Settings’.
- Then click ‘Browse’ and select the Vectorworks application in the new window. Click ‘Add’ to add your Vectorworks version to the list.
- Next, select your Vectorworks version and click ‘Options’. A new dialog box will open.
- Choose ‘High performance’ if your computer has a dedicated graphics card. The name of that card is indicated at the bottom. In ‘Power saving’ mode, the computer will use the Intel card. Click ‘Save’ to confirm.
- Restart the computer.
